PLAYOFFS
Championship Game
The American Football League, during its existence between 1960 and 1969 (before merging in 1970 with the National Football League) held the Championships every year to decide upon the champion. In 1966 onwards, the AFL Champion would play against the NFL's Champion in the Superbowl. New York Jets became the first AFL team to win the Super Bowl (III) in 1969 and then followed by Kansas City Chiefs in Superbowl IV.
