NORTH AMERICAN EAST
Orlando Thunder were formed in 1991 as a founding member of the World League of American Football. They qualified for the playoffs but lost 21-17 in World Bowl '92 against Sacramento Surge. |
In a 2006 ESPN's Uni Watch column, the team's jersey was voted the 2nd worst football jersey of all-time behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 1976-96 uniform. |
The team folded when the WLAF suspended operations following the 1992 season. Their name, not colours, was ressurected with the Berlin Thunder for the 1999 season and since by the British Football League's Thames Valley Thunder for the 2021 season. |
