| On the evening of November 14th 1970, Southern Airways Flight 932 chartered the Marshall University Thundering Herd college football team back to Huntington, WV after their 17-14 defeat to the East Carolina Pirates college football team. The plane clipped trees on a ridge just one mile from Tri-State Airport in Ceredo, WV and crashes into a nearby gully and killed all 75 people on board. The dead included
included 37 football players along with 5 football coaches, 2 athletic trainers, the athletic director, 25 boosters (supporters) and a crew of 5. |

Following the horrific accident, the film addresses the rebuilding of the football team and the healing that the community undergoes especially as the University President Donald Dedmon was considering suspending the football team in memory of the deceased. |
